Joel Sage is now entering his fourth  year as the Head Coach for the Sioux Falls Post 15 Legion West.  A familiar face in the Sioux Falls baseball community, he has been the Head Coach for Roosevelt High School since 2007, led the Post 628 15/16 East squad for six seasons, and served as the Post 15 Legion East Assistant Coach in 2010.

According to Coach Sage, “There is nothing like Legion baseball. Hopping on a bus with your teammates, traveling to competitive tournaments in places like Yankton, Rapid City, Omaha, New Ulm, and Minneapolis, becoming a family, and playing the game we all love is the best possible way to spend the summer.  Coach Storo and I are looking forward to working with a terrific group of players this year, helping them work toward their goals and having fun in the process.

Off the field, Coach Sage teaches English II and AP Literature and Composition at Roosevelt High School where he has worked since 2002. He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, completed his teaching certifcate through South Dakota State University in 2002, and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Sioux Falls in May of 2009. When not teaching and coaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife Stef, their 13-year old daughter Avery, and their 8-year-old son Vander. Stef is also employed by the Sioux Falls School District, working as a school/home liaison for ELL students.  Avery is an eight grader and loves to play soccer and browse her favorite website: Pinterest.  Vander is a third grader, and he loves to play baseball and go fishing.
