Post 15 West is an American Legion Baseball team based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Post 15 operated only one legion team until it split into two teams, East & West, after the 1992 Championship. Sioux Falls is the largest city in the state at nearly 155,000 for it’s population. Sioux Falls West is mainly comprised of students from Roosevelt High School and O’Gorman High School. Over the course of the past three seasons, Post 15 West has competed against teams from 14 different states as well as teams from Canada.
Post 15 West competes in Class ‘A’ of American Legion Baseball in South Dakota. Currently there are 15 teams from across the state that compete in Class ‘A’. Post 15 West competes in Region ‘2A’ along with Mitchell, Brandon Valley, Post 15 East and Yankton. Each team in the region plays each other twice during the summer to determine region tournament seeding.
The South Dakota State ‘A’ Champion competes in the Central Plains Regional in Fargo, ND. The champion of the CPR earns a berth into the American Legion World Series in Shelby, NC.
