Sioux Falls Post 15 West Outhits Yankton (SD) In 10-6 Defeat

Sioux Falls Post 15 West lost 10-6 at Riverside Park on Wednesday, despite outhitting Yankton 12 to 10.
Isaac Nelsen led Sioux Falls Post 15 West’s offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Yankton couldn’t get anything going as long as Austin Ryan was pitching. Yankton managed just three hits off of Ryan, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 4 1/3 innings of work.
Yankton ‘s Tyler Guthmiller, Mason Townsend, Jotdan Kathol and Justin Leader combined for eight hits and six RBIs.
Kyle Gulbrandson was charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out none.
Yankton went up for good in the third, scoring three runs on two singles.
Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Sioux Falls Post 15 West close its deficit to 3-2. A fielder’s choice and a sacrifice fly by Justin Aldrich fueled Sioux Falls Post 15 West’s comeback. Yankton stopped the rally after Townsend got Chandlar Austin to ground out.
Yankton scored seven runs of its own in the fourth. Yankton scored on a sacrifice fly by Ethan Wishan, an RBI single by Leader, a two-run double by Guthmiller, a sacrifice fly by Sheldon Gant, and a two-run single by Kathol.
